An Indian medic has identified the main cause of blindness in Kenya.
S.K Salva a medic from Mumbai in India said most people in Kenya have lost their sight due to a cataract condition where the eye’s lens lying behind the iris and the pupil is clouded.
Salva said that many people have gone blind because cataract condition was not treated well due to financial challenges and lack of proper medical care.
He said people should know the early signs especially when one may be unable to see well so that they can get proper treatment.
“People should visit an eye clinic anytime one is unable to see properly so that cataract condition can be treated in time. Eating bad diet can also bring about the cataract condition,” he said in Thika during a medical camp at Chania Girls.
He called on Kenyan doctors to move with speed and treat patients with cataract eye condition failure to which several people will still continue going blind.
