Nakuru Truck drivers at Viwandani have protested over the poor state of Stanley Mathenge road. The drivers say  they have hard times when it comes to offloading goods at the industrial area due to potholes which usually makes the road impassable. According to Peter Njoroge a frequent driver in industrial area , it becomes impassable during the rainy season because of the poor drainage system.

The lorries are usually prone to mechanical problems. "When you go and you are loaded, it is most certain that the truck will either spoil its springs are you will get stuck. The county government should do something about this road", Njoroge said

Martin Kuruia said that they pay alot of taxes to the national government and yet they do not get the required services. "We usually pay alot of levies to the county government. This road is very important to the development since all the trucks and lorries entering or leaving industrial area must pass this road. The MCA of this ward should be very ashamed", Martin Kuruia said.

Speaking to the press after the incident, Nakuru Roads Executive Joel Maina, told the press that the road was not under the county government and that it was under the national government.

"All the national government roads are under very poor state and it is the county government that is being blamed for it. We have tried to follow up the  matter with the cabinet secretary and we have been told to wait", Maina said.
