A six month old baby was on Thursday morning burnt beyind recognition in Rosiaga village, South Mugirango in Kisii County.

Locals say that parents had left in the morning heading to their respective places of work when the incident happened. 

"They left the first born who is four years old to take care of the infant hoping that they will be back in time. However, before the day broke fire caught the house," said Jame Matoke a local.

Its believed that the fire was  caused by a candle that was left lighting which fell on a book and the house caught fire.

When the parents heard about the incident they rushed home only to find angry residents who opted to discipline them before handing them over to the police

"That was very careless of them how can they leave a kid to tale care of another baby?" Posed Ms Matoke. 

Fire related cases in Kisii County have been on the increase.
