Police are investigating the suspected murder of a two-year-old baby in Nairobi's Huruma estate.

The body of the slain child was discovered by churchgoers after it was dumped at a construction site.

Confirming the incident, Buruburu OCPD Geoffrey Maiyek revealed that the child had been strangled with a leso at night.

“He was probably killed at night but we are investigating the matter,” Maiyek said, calling upon the public to volunteer information to the police.

He said no one has however filed a missing person statement with police.

The slain baby was dressed in a navy blue T-shirt, brown trousers and black sport shoes while the leso was still around its neck.

The body has been taken to City Mortuary.
