AFC Leopards are set to lose their defender Joshua Mawira at the end of the season.

According to the Ingwe hierarchy, Mawira will be leaving the country to pursue further studies abroad starting next year June.

Leopards Organising Secretary Timothy Lilumbi confirmed the departure news saying the player had reached out to them over the same.

"Mawira will be with us for half a season. He wants to go and study abroad from June 2018 and we will sign someone who will replace him once he leaves," he saiad.

Mawira joined the den under former coach Ivan Minnaert in June 2016 after ditching Nairobi City Stars.
