AFC Leopards settled for a 1-1 draw against FOSA Juniors of Madagascar in a Confederation of African Football(CAF) Confederation Cup tight fixture played on Sunday at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega County.
The 2017 Go TV Cup champions started the match with an early lead courtesy of new signing Prince Arko who scored from a close range.
However, the visitors quickly capitalised in a defensive error shown by Ingwe three minutes later to secure an equalizer through Rado Mbalosoa in the 15th minute.
The equalizer gave the Juniors more confidence as they dominated most time of play during the first half.
In the second half, Leopards brought in midfielder Ezekiel Odera and Baker Lukooya taking places of Aziz Okaka and Henry Uche.
The team remained restless in the match, with the visitors doing all they can to ensure they secure the draw which could see them progress in the next round of the tournament.
The Leopards, on the other hand, must either win or secure a more superior goal draw for them to move on to the next stage.
At the Kenyatta Stadium on Saturday, KPL champions Gor Mahia secured a 2-0 victory against Leones Vegetarianos in the CAF champions league thereby putting themselves in pole position of qualifying to the next phase.
