For the past 19 years, the Kenyan Premier League has been an unforgiving tournament for the Leopards. Ingwe who last tasted glory in 1998 sit third in the Premier League five points adrift league leaders Mathare United.
It has not been a good week for Ingwe after the departure of Head coach Dennis Kitambi which has raised questions about the management of the team. Ingwe has now opted for experienced Argentine coach Rodolfo Zapata who will take over in May.
Ingwe has recorded the highest number of manager turnovers in the last two years in the Premier League.
Ingwe who are winless in their last three games travel to Bandari on Saturday seeking to consolidate their poor form. This season, Ingwe’s attacking option has been a fortress to watch.
Their attacking duo has become more of a threat to other clubs, scoring 21 goals more than any other premier league side this season.
However, in the other half, Ingwe has missed the flair in defense conceding in every of their last five matches.
Ingwe must quickly address their defensive options in order to challenge for the trophy this season. If they manage to do this Ingwe will be a hot prospect in the coming days.
