As the second leg of the Kenya Premier League season comes close to getting underway, sixth placed AFC Leopards have axed three players in readiness for the same.
The three shown the exit door are Collins Okoth, Henri Uche, Eric Bekoe and Alfred WekesaA club statement released on the same said the players had been released on ‘mutual consent'
Perhaps the biggest surprise on the list is 2017/18 best midfielder Collins Okoth who was shown the door for unclear reasons.
Individuals in the AFC camp believe the talismanic midfielder has been axed because of his retarded discipline having been on the receiving end of various disciplinary actions at the club.
"The club has released: Collins Okoth, Henri Uche, Eric Bekoe and Alfred Wekesa on mutual consent. We thank them for their services to the club and we wish them the best in their future endeavors,” an AFC statement on the released players read.
Ingwe have played three more matches than league leaders Gor Mahia but are still six points worse off.
If Gor win all of their matches at hand, they will be at least 15 points better than Rodolfo Zapata’s men which will be like an insult to all they stand for.
The rebuilding process by the Argentine coach will take some time before it gets going and starts paying results.
Ingwe fans around the country will of courser want to see them back in the chasing pack and try to win trophies as well and not being mere participants season in and season out.
