Kenya Premier League giants AFC Leopards have vowed to bag the 2018 league title that has eluded them for two decades now.
Ingwe last won the KPL title in 1998 and they hope to break the lengthy jinx in the forthcoming 2018 season.
Captain Duncan Otieno underscored the ability of the team saying they will give whatever it takes to win the coveted title in a bid to reward their loyal fans.
"We want to start the season from where we left off in the last campaign.We had a good finish including winning the domestic cup.Fans expect a lot from us and we must strive to break this jinx.Our rivals, Gor Mahia have had a great run winning titles since ending an 18-year-long wait, it is our time," said the Harambee Stars defender.
Leopards had a terrible campaign in the 2017 season that at one time saw them flirt with relegation for the better part of the season until veteran coach Robert Matano stepped in to save matters.
However, on a positive note the club won the GOtv shield after pipping Kariobangi Sharks 2-0 on December 20, 2017, at the Moi Sports Centre Kasarani.Courtesy of the same they will be representing the country in the continental Confederation of Africa Football (Caf) championship that kicks off in February.
The team has been drawn alongside Madagascar giants Fosa Juniors for the continental assignment with the first leg scheduled on February 10 at the Bukhungu Stadium.
