The County Government of Kakamega has approved requests from Kenyan Premier League giants AFC Leopards, and newly-promoted Vihiga United FC to use Bukhungu Stadium for their home matches.

Apart from using the facility for their league matches, AFC Leopards will also use the 30,000-seater stadium for their Caf Confederation Cup matches.

This means Leopards will host Madagascar’s Fosa Juniors FC in the preliminaries of Caf Confederation Cup on February 10.

On Monday, Kakamega County Deputy Governor Prof Phillip Kutima disclosed that a delegation from the Confederation of Africa Football inspected the stadium last week and declared it fit to host the match between AFC Leopards and Fosa Juniors.

Kutima was speaking at Bukhungu Stadium after signing an agreement with Vihiga County Deputy Governor Dr Patrick Saisi, allowing Kenyan Premier League debutantes Vihiga United FC to use the facility for its home matches.
