[Photo|Anyang Nyong'o]Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang' Nyong'o says cases of bloated wage bill in the county is as a result of inheritance of staff from the defunct municipal councils.He said the staff were absorbed by the counties and are on payslip. Nyong'o said there are challenges involved in dismissing staff "and it is an issue that needs critical analysis before any action can be taken in terms of downsizing as there are costs involved."Speaking from the Diani Reef Hotel in Kwale county where he is attending a 3-day governors' induction workshop alongside his Deputy Dr Ochieng Owili, Nyong'o said there were staff without the requisite qualifications but were hired in dubious means.He warned that such staff would be fired in due course.
