Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has noted that if the Government does not engage them in dialogue in the next two weeks, they will spare another day in the week to hold anti-IEBC demonstrations.
"If you do not accept dialogue in two weeks then we are telling the Jubilee Government this, we have been doing it on Monday but we will start doing it on Monday and Thursday," Muthama stated in a press statement.
This comes after Cord leaders celebrated their victory after the High Court earlier declined to stop the protests but compelled IG Joseph Boinnet to provide security and ensure public safety.
Meanwhile, business came to a standstill in various counties after the Monday demonstrations kicked off earlier today.
Following fatal shootings of protesters in Kisumu, where one person was shot dead, Siaya Senator James Orengo has said Cord will move to court tomorrow to begin legal proceedings against the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinet.
“The suit will be seeking to have Boinet held personally responsible for the killing of peaceful protesters by Police,” Raila Odinga’s press secretary Dennis Onyango said.
