Two security guards are fighting for their lives in a Naivasha hospital after thugs seriously attacked them.
The two men were guarding a flower farm when thugs invaded their premises on Sunday night.
James Wasike, a witness, said the thugs who were armed with crude weapons found the two at the main gate of the busy flower farm during the incident. He said that the two had deep cuts on some parts of the body inflicted on them during the night ordeal.
Wasike added that the two were rushed to hospital in critical condition.
“The security guards had raised an alarm during the attack but it was too late. The thugs had already left without stealing anything,” he said.
Attending medical officer at the Naivasha sub-county hospital, who declined to be named, termed their condition as stable, noting that they were responding well to treatment.
Naivasha police commander Robert Maingi, who confirmed the incident, said they were following crucial leads. Maingi said initial investigations pointed to an inside job, adding that they were taking statements from some of the employees at the flower company.
“The thugs, whose number we could not immediately establish, managed to escape without stealing anything. It is a matter of time before we arrest them,” he said.
