Inmates have been urged to embrace education as they continue serving their sentences.
Officer in charge of Eldoret G.K Prison Stephen Kabiru said being imprisoned physically does not mean they could pursue education.
"Prisoners who had dropped out of school should go back to class since the government had accorded them this opportunity," he said in Eldoret town, Sunday.
"They should love education because it helps them to coexist peacefully with one another one their sentences are over.We want the inmates to be enlighted through education," he added.
He, however, urged Kenyans not to discriminate inmates once they complete serving their sentences since they have reformed.
"We should love and embrace them for them to feel loved instead of discriminating them since they are just people like us and that anyone can be arrested and jailed, it's just a matter of time," noted Kabiru.
