The governor has received lots of criticism from his party compatriots including Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo who took to the public to criticise Rasanga over poor leadership.

Speaking at a church service at Saint Stephen Ogoye ACK Church in Bondo, Midiwo said that he was going to endorse someone else to wrestle Rasanga from office in 2017.

"I am thinking of backing a candidate to unseat Rasanga in the next general election," he said.

"As a leader, I cannot entertain someone we entitled with managing county resources and billions, yet who stoops so low as to abuse MCAs and MPs," Midiwo added.

He was referring to a recent incident in which Rasanga allegedly referred to his critics as illiterate.

There is a likelihood that Siaya senator James Orengo will be the preferred gubernatorial aspirant in the coming elections and should he seek the post, party allegiance will be split between the senator and current governor.

Another rift is already developing in Kisumu county where senator Anyang Nyongo is already warming up to unseat fellow party member Governor Jack Ranguma.
