Among the remaining unsettled issues was the payment of the players's salaries, an issue which the sports cabinet secretary promised to immediately look into so that their allowances and accrued salaries are paid.

Earlier, the Kenya Rugby Union board had fired Mr. Simiyu following the stunt pulled up by the players during the Paris Sevens after learning that their salaries of Sh100, 000 per player had been withheld by Brand Kenya.

In the pitch, the players covered the Brand Kenya logo on their t-shirts after the altercation, an action which annoyed the Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala.

The CS would later cancel their sponsorship with Brand Kenya. Kenyans still remain speculative on who was to blame here.
