The inquest on the murder of Baby Samantha Pendo began today in Kisumu, after the case to establish the killers was mentioned.
The inquest, which was ordered by former Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko, will seek to establish the killers of the six-month old baby.
Baby Pendo was killed last year, during the aftermath of the August elections in Kisumu’s Kondele’s estate.
A total of 21 witnesses including parents, family and friends to the family have been lined up to testify.
A report by the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) also indicated that it was difficult to identify the killers following blanket accusation of the police.
Baby Pendo died in August last year after she was reportedly clobbered on the head by police in her parents’ house.
The family of the baby has been crying for justice for their baby, and have accused the police of begin behind the death of their daughter.
