Addressing residents on Tuesday in Kathiani town, Mulinge said that electricity lapses in the area has seen insecurity cases go high.

“For the past one week we have been hit by blackouts. Thugs has been taking advantage of the situation, we are urging Kenya Power to come to our rescue,” said Mulinge.

The black out also has made business people in the area to close as early as 6pm hence recording losses.

This comes just a week after thieves have broke a clothes shop in Tala running away with money and propeties.

The police officers from Tala police post are still investigating on the matter.

Traders in Tala town have also complained that their businesses have lagged behind since they have to close early by 6pm in the evening for security purposes and lack of lights.
