A police post will be built in Kiratina village Ruiru Sub County in order to address cases of crime, sub county deputy commissioner Mercy Gatobu has said.
Speaking to journalists at Ruiru town after a meeting to discuss security issues in the sub county on Monday, Gatobu further said that more police officers will be deployed to patrol the area in efforts to nail down criminals allegedly causing havoc.
The deputy commissioner assured residents that security will be heightened in the area.
“We are going to build a police post in Kiratina and other areas across Ruiru that have experienced surge in criminal activities,” said the deputy sub county commissioner.
She appealed to residents to work with the police noting that most crimes can be thwarted if they give out intelligence to the police.
Residents of Kiratina village have been lamenting over rise in criminal acts.
Last week the residents appealed to the Kiambu county commissioner Alex Nkoyo to address insecurity.
The locals allege existence of criminal gangs that are behind a series of robberies in the area. The residents further allege that the gang is behind several cases of rape that have been reported.
