Entrepreneurs operating various businesses in Athi River town, Machakos County, have cried foul of the looming insecurity in the town.
The traders raised their concerns where they said that they have been attacks on different occasions and their property stolen.
Addressing the press through their spokesperson Stephen Mwangi in Athi River town yesterday, the busuness men expressed their fears for their lives and businesses.
Mwangi disclosed that most of their colleague victims who had succumbed to such attacks had their families left suffering since no culprits have been arrested.
"We are worried and living in fears as business community in Athi River since most of the victims who succumb during the robbery attacks leave behind their loved ones suffering due to lack of compensation since the assailants involved in the attacks are hardly brought to book by security officers," said Mwangi.
He gave an example of a young women who was recently attacked in Athi River town, few metres from a police station at around 7.30 pm, shot dead and her Mpesa shop robbed by unknown assailants.
According to the trader, he have not heard of any information that suspects had been arrested following the incident that happened fortnight ago.
