Barely a week after opposition outfit NASA unveiled Raila Odinga as its presidential candidate, fresh details have emerged on the deal that took four months to be agreed upon.

Odinga, 72 was given a lifeline to try his fourth and last bid for the top office after three unsuccessful attempts and will be deputized by Kalonzo Musyoka.

And in another likely rematch of 2013 elections, the duo will face President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto, who have since dismissed the NASA lineup.

Although the move has since ignited resistance from Musyoka’s Kamba community, the former Vice President bright days lies ahead if at all Mr. Odinga will adhere to the contents of the MoU.

Having confirmed that he will be a transitional president should NASA win; Odinga will pass the mantle to Mr. Musyoka who will be deputized by Musalia Mudavadi in 2022 elections where Deputy President William Ruto is expected to participate.

Ruto, who has since backed President Uhuru Kenyatta’s reelection bid, is facing stiff resistance from his Rift Valley region in which Baringo senator Gideon Moi has declared interest.
