Gatundu South Democratic Party (DP) chairman Charles Kanyiri has urged parents to instil good morals in their children.
Kanyiri said proper upbringing of children will help the children to keep away from problems that may deter them from achieving their life goals.
He blamed parents for the increased alcohol consumption in Kiambu.
"When your son comes home drunk and you do not ask him, there is a disconnect there. Let us question and correct them,” said Kanyiri.
He noted that parents have responsibility of moulding their children’s character.
“As parents we are in a better position to fight drug abuse, alcoholism among other vices,” said Kanyiri.
At the same time Kanyiri criticised local administrators for failing the Nyumba Kumi Initiative.
“We need to embrace Nyumba Kumi Initiative since it is for our own benefit,” says Kanyiri.
He was speaking in Gatundu Town on Wednesday during area DP members consultative meeting.
