Institutions across the county have been called upon t o support the needy bright students to achieve their academic goals.
Speaking while offering a sponsorship of the needy bright students on Thursday evening at Nyaguta secondary school in Kiogoro Ward, Nyaribari Chache Member of Parliament Richard Tong’i said that there are many able institutions in the county who can chip in to help the needy attain their goals.
The Mp said that it's sad to see how organisations and banks were not willing to help the community when the community does a lot of businesses with them.
“We all know that we have needy students so there is need to ensure that we help them as they will also help the society in the days to come,” he added
The legislator added that most of those organisations and financial institutions have developed a notion that all pupils who learn in private schools come from well-off families but that is not the case, hence, there is a need to change that attitude and give them consideration when offering scholarship opportunities.
He also pleaded with members of the community to also consider supporting the growth of private schools within their localities, since such institutions greatly help in supplementing the education offered by public schools.
