Kisii County Education Board (KCEB) chairman Dr Henry Onderi has suggested for Interdenominational prayers with all stakeholders as one way of ending the fire incidents within the county.
Speaking on Thursday at St Peter’s Nyamesocho in Bomachoge Borabu constituency following the fire incident which gutted one dormitory, the chairman said that it is high time for the county to organise for interdenominational prayers at Gusii stadium so that they can pray for the country.
“I would like to suggest that now it is a time we need to hold interdenominational prayers so that we can curb this menace,” Onderi said.
Parents who spoke to the reporter at the school they echoed Onderi’s sentiments by saying that they only need God’s intervention.
“ The challenges of fire have given us sleepless night as we think of the safety of our children in schools, we need to have prayers so that we can look for God’s intervention for the unrest in schools,” said Jackeline Moraa a parent.
The fire incident comes one day after the twin fire incidents at St Andrew Kaggwa forced students to go home for one week.
