Majority Leader is a one man who is not a stranger to the political landscape of the country.
His abrasive leadership style and hard-hitting statements against his perceived opponents have earned him enemies and friends
Away from politics, Duale did not reach where he is today on a silver platter but rather he overcame many odds to achieve his goals and ambitions in life.
Here are four interesting things you may not know about this man, Aden Barre Dualle.
1. Poor background
Many people believe that Duale came from a Royal family courtesy of the huge wealth he owns today, but that is far from the reality.
The man was raised singlehandedly by his poor mother after he lost his father at a tender age.
His mother sold firewood and mandazis to fend for them.
He and his other siblings occasionally helped their mother in distributing the firewood to customers, which constantly distracted their school-going.
2. Teacher
Duale started his first career as a graduate teacher at a secondary school called Sankuri in the outskirts of Balambala constituency, Garissa county.
He taught the school for about 2 years before he left and ventured into other business.
3. Dowry
The majority leader is married to the daughter of a retired chief of staff, General Mohamud.
He paid only four cows as a dowry to his father- in- law.
The couple are blessed with five children
4. Election
The MP won three consecutive elections to represent the constituents of Garissa with a big margin.
He was first elected in 2007 on an ODM ticket and retained his position on a Jubilee Party ticket in the 2017 elections.
