The Interior Ministry has weighed in after opposition chief Raila Odinga faulted CS Fred Matiang'i over his remarks on judicial personnel.

The ministry spokesperson Mwenda Njoka has stated that the ministry will not respond to the statement issued on Wednesday.

According to Njoka, they had not authenticated the statement.

"We can not respond without authenticating if the statement was directly from Mr Odinga. We'll not issue a comprehensive statement since what the CS was talking about is before Parliament," Mwenda is quoted by Kenyans.co.ke.

In a statement to the media, Raila rebuked CS Fred Matiang'i  for going against the spirit and purpose of his unity pact with President Uhuru Kenyatta

The NASA principal condemned Matiang’i for what he termed as "highly irresponsible andreckless statements" against the Judiciary.

Raila said that such sentiments are a threat to the unity pact.
