Leading the charge of coverage has been the BBC which reported the story when it broke in an article titled ''Miguna Miguna : Kenya opposition figure deported again''.

''Kenyan opposition figure Miguna Miguna has again been deported from the country amid an ongoing row over his citizenship status. The deportation is in defiance of multiple court rulings in his favour. Earlier on Wednesday, a court held top officials in contempt of court for failing to obey orders to release him. Lawyers for Mr. Miguna confirmed he had left the country on an Emirates flight from Nairobi airport, where he had been detained since Monday.'' The BBC posted on its website.

Radio France International reported,'' An opposition figure has been deported after a standoff with  immigration officials at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.''

The Washington Post covered the developing story in an article titled ''Kenyan opposition figure deported to Dubai, lawyers say''.

''NAIROBI, Kenya — Acting in the middle of the night, Kenyan authorities handcuffed and deported an opposition politician whose attempt to enter the country led to him being detained in an airport toilet for more than a day, lawyers said early Thursday. Miguna Miguna, targeted in a Kenyan government crackdown amid lingering election tensions, was sent to Dubai even after a court ordered authorities to release him, lawyer Cliff Ombeta said. Another lawyer, James Orengo, said police at the airport roughed them up and forced them to leave when they tried to serve the court order.'' The Washington Post reported.

The story is developing and it is expected that more international media outlets will cover the story.
