As the local media continues it's coverage of Raila Odinga's controversial inauguration at Uhuru Park grounds, the international media has not been left behind.

Various media outlets with a global reach had running commentaries on the development that has elicited sharp reactions.

Washington Post, an America posted three pieces on its website on the matter.

The top-selling newspaper seemed to lay emphasis on the fact that the swearing-in ceremony was a mock inauguration.

It wrote: ''In a ceremony that Kenya’s government warned would be treason, opposition leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday was sworn in as “the people’s president” during a mock inauguration protesting President Uhuru Kenyatta’s new term after months of deadly election turmoil.''
