The increasing school infernos being experienced in schools across the country is because of the pressure teaches get from the ministry of education about being sacked.
This is according to Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang who says that the intimidated teaches use some of their students and villagers to start the fire.
He said that this way the teaches would not be under pressure of being interdicted as they give themselves time to find out what to do next.
“The overwhelmed teaches use their students and locals to act as cartelists in stating fore so that they give themselves enough space and time as the case is still being investigated,” said Kajwang.
Speaking on Friday at a local radio station, the senator said that the government has the responsibility of rebuilding the burned schools.
He said that parents should not be told to contribute in reconstructing burned buildings but instead they should be on the fore front to see that their students learn using the best available material.
“The government is in charge of contracting buildings in schools and parents on the other hand can step in by contributing in book donation or buying of other learning materials,” said Kajwang.
The legislator has also asked for more efforts to be put in investigating the increasing fire cases in Kenyan schools.
“The police need to pull up their socks in order that the suspects are booked and charged,” said Kajwang.
