Gatundu North MP Francis Kigo Njenga has urged Kiambu County government to invest heavily in education infrastructure to improve waning education standards.
Kigo noted that education standards in Kiambu County have declined owing to poor education infrastructure.
“The level of education in Kiambu County has declined over the past years owing to poor education policies and lack of support from parents,” said Kigo.
Speaking on Saturday at Makohokoho Primary School, Kiambu County during and event to upgrade the school from a day to a boarding school, Kigo said that proper education policies will lift the waning levels of education in the county .
“Policy makers in education sector should come up with better policies that will improve the declining levels of education in Kiambu,” said Kigo.
The legislator said that quality education is the key to development and urged parents to support county government in improving the level of education.
He promised to continue supporting education through CDF. “Gatundu North CDF will continue providing bursaries to needy students to achieve their dreams,” said Kigo.
Makohokoho Primary School is a mixed public school that has enrolment of 250 students. The upgrading of the school to the level of boarding is expected to rise the number of students.
Kigo said the elaborate plan to upgrade and expand the school is in line with government policy to provide quality education.
