Bonchari MP ,Zebedeo Opore has challenged investors in the real estates from Kisii County to exploit the potential of the newly-launched Mount Kenya University(MKU)Kisii Campus and invest in students hostel accomodation facilities around the campus.
Opore underscored the importance of having hostel accomodation facilities around the campus to afford students access such services without travelling for long distances seeking for the same.
Speaking during the official launch of the new campus at Gesonso area in the outskirts of Kisii town,Opore tipped the real estate investors in the region on the accruing benefits of investing their money in the establishment of hostel accomodation facilities around the new institution for them to benefit from the demand-driven hostel services inthe area.
"Iam challenging investors with interests in real estates to consider investing in hostel and accomodatyion facilities around this new campus,to facilitate students access such facilities conveniently without travelling for long distances to seek for the same,"stated Opore
He however,challenged the management of MKU to consider the local community members for menial and official job opportunities as part of appreciation to the community for embracing the new campus in the area.
The legislator commended the MKU management for bringing its campus to Kisii County and challenged parents from the local communities to patronize the campus' courses to enhance their higher education qualifications.
