Kenya National Union of Teachers Chairperson Mudzo Nzili now wants schools to invest in security detail to tame the rising wave of school unrest.
He accused most schools of employing guards who cannot tame school fire incidents.
Nzili says the current spate of schools fires in public schools requires concerted efforts from all stakeholders to avert the menace being experienced in schools.
The KNUT Chair said students are taking advantage of the poor security mechanisms to destroy property.
He said all the education stakeholders in Kenya should come together in securing a proper learning environment and help resolve any disagreement in the schools. Nzili was speaking in Kilifi County where he called on parents as well as students to stay on high alert and report any unusual events in their institutions.
