Machakos county Governor Alfred Mutua has asked local and foreign investors to invest in the hotel and hospitality sector in the county.
Mutua says that the hotel, hospitality and tourism sector has the potential of doubling the county’s economic growth.
The Governor who spoke during the opening of Gelian hotel at Machakos town said the county has a conducive environment for the hospitality sector.
“I want to encourage local investors to invest in the hospitality and hotel sector, it has the potential of transforming our economy,” said Mutua.
Mutua stated that his government is banking on the hospitality and tourism sector to improve the economy.
He added that the presence of the Machakos People’s Park and other facilities in the county are meant to attract local and foreign tourists.
The Machakos Governor said that the presence of investors in the county will create job opportunities and promote the living standards of the people.
He said that Machakos government will work with investors who are willing to set up investments in the county.
