Parents have been urged to invest more in their children’s education.
Speaking over the weekend during prize giving day at Nakuru Secondary School, Egerton University alumni Mr Michael Mwangi said there is nothing more than education that a child can get from the parent.
He said education is the key and a way out of poverty adding that parent should not deny their children an opportunity to go to school.
“Parents should invest in education of their children because it is the only way out of poverty,” he said.
Mwangi also urged student to work hard in order to make there parents proud.
“Students should work hard to make their parents see the value of investing in education,” he said.
During the ceremony 2014 KCSE top performers were awarded cash prizes and trophies. The best candidate in school Mary Wanjiku was a warded a trophy and Ksh 5000.
School head teacher Rose Kariuki said she is committed to do better next year by producing the best candidate in the county.
She thanked parents and teachers for their cooperation that led to the good result.
