Prominent Nairobi lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi wants Central Bank governor Patrick Njoroge investigated by EACC over claims of abuse of office.
Abdullahi accused Njoroge of illegally incurring operational expenses and creating liability without authority or supervision from the board of directors.
He said that the governor has spent billions of public money and operated without oversight from the board of governors.
In the complaint that was filed through the Nairobi Law Monthly publication, Abdullahi termed this as against the law.
“Dr Njoroge, notwithstanding the patronage he so enjoys, must be investigated properly. He has breached the law and this matter must be addressed through proper and bonafide investigations by your organisation. He has been miraculously running CBK as a one-man show,” said Abdullahi.
“Njoroge has been incurring huge capital expenditure without any board appraisal, authority or supervision. He has in the process abused his office, usurped the powers of the board and acted in flagrant breach of the law," he said.
