The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has been challenged to ensure all politicians found to be inciting locals to cause violence are arrested and prosecuted.
Uasin Gishu chairman of Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya (CIPK) Sheikh Abubakar Bini has further asked the Independent Electoral and Boundaires Commission to bar politicians linked to incitement from participating in the August 8 polls.
Speaking in Eldoret, Thursday, Bini reiterated the need for peace and unity especially at this time that the country is witnessing rise in political temperatures.
"IEBC should not clear any candidate linked to incitement and violence even if they will be having a go ahead from their respective parties," noted Sheikh Bini.
"This will help ensure only individuals who care about the future if our country are on the ballot in August," he added.
There has been several cases of violence in some parts of Uasin Gishu ahead of the Jubilee party primaries planned for Friday, April 21, 2017.
