Police in Eldoret have launched investigations over the circulation of hate leaflets.
According to the leaflets, certain communities have been threatened to vote for Governor Jackson Mandago or face the consequences.
Mandago has since denied any link to the leaflets.
The leaflets, written in Kiswahili, were circulated on Monday in Munyaka, Bahati, Mwitiriria and Cyrus estates.
Uasin Gishu county commissioner Abdi Hassan has confirmed the launch of investigations.
“We are already on the ground following up the matter and we would like to assure residents that they should not be worried as the government will provide adequate security,” Hassan said.
Police will be deployed in strategic areas at night to arrest those circulating the leaflets
