The High Court has stopped investigations into Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho’s academic credentials.
There had been an allegation that the Governor uses fake certificate and the DCI had launched investigations into the same. The allegations stated that Joho had used fake KCSE certificate to seek admission at the university.
The Governor in turn rushed to court to bar his arrest or prosecution.
Justice Eric Ogola stated that Joho’s investigations were malicious, untimely and were meant to taint his public image.
“Joho’s rights were violated, abused and breached,” said Justice Ogola.
The judge further questioned the credibility of the case, citing that it resembles one filed in 2013 by the same person.
He further added that the same investigations done in 2013 are the same and it cannot be a coincidence.
