This is after the investor left an open pit latrine hole which led to the death of a cow and a calf something that has angered the locals.

The residents say the hole which is along the road is a danger to both the locals and their animals.

The two animals where grazing before they fell into the pit.

The calf died while the cow broke its two front limbs.

The owner of the animals David Wesonga now wants the contractor and owner of the house held responsible for negligence causing the death of his animal and injury to another.

“This is total negligence and I want the owner of the contraction site to pay for the losses. This cow was my source of income,” added Wesonga.

The neglected pit has been in existence for the past two months.

The locals further claim the pit has ‘swallowed’ two other goats in a similar instance two weeks ago but the owner had failed to compensate and further neglected covering the pit.

The locals no want the pit fully covered and the investor sued in court for negligence.

“This is a very unfortunate incident. We can’t keep on losing our animals as a result of carelessness. We want him to be brought to book by the end of today.” Says Jeremiah Osodo.

The villagers said that the hole is not just a danger to their animals but their children and strangers who may walk along the path at night.

“This matter should be taken with seriousness. One can imagine what will happen if a stranger walks along the path at night. We are lucky so far we have not had a casualty but we want it covered and fenced with immediate effect,” added Osodo.
