Limuru is experiencing booming construction work as investors troop in the area to establish manufacturing plants, shopping malls and office complexes.
Proctor & Allan, renowned for manufacturing healthy breakfast cereals, is building a three-floored huge building behind Equity bank-Limuru branch.
Fresh n Juici are also establishing a plant along the Limuru-Kabuku road and next to Limuru milk processor.
There is also Tuskys Mall under construction as one enters Limuru town, and the building will house the Tuskys supermarket, have ample parking for customers and also hold extra rental space for businesses wishing to invest in the town.
The building housing Uchumi supermarket-Limuru is almost complete and with the contractors putting finishing touches with the famous red and white Uchumi colours.
Limuru MP John Kiragu said there were many investors coming into the area because of its strategic location, since it is next to the Nakuru-Nairobi highway, acres of available development land and the suitable climate for development and investment.
“The avalanche of investors into Limuru was part of my campaign manifesto, but better than that is that the people will get jobs and there will be a flow of money that will make the economy of Limuru grow,” said Kiragu.
He added that he was in communication with the Proctor & Allan, and was aware that they had plans to relocate their main plant from Nairobi-Industrial area to Limuru.
