A number of local and international investors visiting Machakos County have expressed interests to invest within the county, after seeing 'Macha City'.
The city's plan that was shared with participants at the just concluded second annual devolution conference in Kisumu seemed to had impressed and attracted many locals and foreign investors, some of who said they would move to Kisumu.
Addressing press in Machakos town on Friday, Sharon Atieno, a customer relations support of a Nairobi based company, who led a delegation of foreign investors to tour the town prior to the city's establishment, said it was the presentation by Machakos County representatives at its exhibition tent at the conference that prompted their visit.
Atieno argued that Machakos County's presentations in terms of its success and milestones within two years since devolution's implementation began outstood to be the best and most attractive.
She revealed the team was impressed by the presenters' public relations and the language used by the county government such as 'A place to be and Maendeleo Chap Chap slogan.'
According to customer relations officer, Machakos seemed to be having lots of opportunities and ample environment, which can favor development hence reason for their visit.
Atieno lauded leadership of the county government for establishing best development plans and structures in a bid of creating conducive environment for both locals, foreign and local investors as well as improving livelihoods of the residents.
She said the city would create lots of opportunities to the residents and all investors who intend to do business in the city, given that it would attract great markets and provide other opportunities such as jobs/
The officer called on residents of the county to support its leadership so as to speedily spur the region's development and enable Governor Alfred Mutua achieve his campaign Manifesto.
