The International Olympic Committee(IOC) will make a decision on Kenya during a meeting in South Korea this week after the National Olympic Committee failed to adhere to the reformed timeline.
A possible ban means Kenya will not be allowed to send athletes to the Olympic games. The IOC executive board meeting is set for Thursday and Friday and it will decide sanctions on Kenya for failing to adopt a new constitution and set the pace for fresh election before the end of March.
NOC voted against the adoption of the new constitution at a general assembly meeting last week as directed by IOC leading the global authority to freeze funding for the Kenyan National Olympic Committee.
According to chapter 6 of the Olympic charter, action can be taken on any NOC official or individual official who goes against the rules.
In the last minute to save Kenyan athletes, NOC has written to IOC requesting an extension to the timelines.
