Governor Ferdinard Waititu on Thursday met with the Chief of Mission Country Director of International Organization for Migration (IOM), Michael Pillinger.
The duo discussed and explored upon avenues of partnership with the agency in addressing, challenges that are facing Kiambu youths such as drug abuse, unemployment, alcoholism, insecurity among others.
Kiambu County is among counties greatly affected by drug abuse and alcoholism in Kenya.
“IOM team has agreed to support my administration in ongoing fight against alcohol and drug abuse among youths," said Waititu.
He added: "It will be done through formulating and designing livelihood support activities aimed at helping them recover and integrate them back into society."
Waititu said that his technical team shall train the affected youths from all wards on business skills that are tailored in helping the youths to venture in various income generating activities.
