Residents want action taken against police officers who killed four youths in Gatina. [Photo/nationmedia.co.ke]It is a case of police brutality that has left the residents of Gatina, an estate in Kawangware in deep shock.Four young men including a boy who was preparing to resume studies, residents say, were shot at point-blank range by police officers.''They took my brother and put him in their car. We later heard a gunshot from a distance. That's how they killed him,'' a brother of one of the victims told the media.IPOA, an agency that looks into disciplinary issues involving the police, has confirmed that it has received complaints from families of the victims.''We have already received complaints from the families of the victims. Investigations by our officers are ongoing and those found culpable will be recommended for prosecution,'' Dennis Oketch, IPOA's communications head told the media. This comes in the context of great unease with the conduct of police officers who have been accused of gross human rights violations.
