Two men suspected to have been practicing witchcraft in Igambang’ombe Sub County were on Tuesday evening stoned to death by irate locals.
The men, aged 55 and 60 years were dragged by the locals from one of the victim’s house to the nearby Kajuki market where they were killed.
Chuka Igambang’ombe OCPD Barasa Sayia said police officers were notified of the incidence but upon reaching the area, the two had already succumbed to their injuries.
Sayia said police are investigating the matter to establish those who were involved in the heinous act and appealed to the public to volunteer information that would lead to the arrest of the culprits.
“We have launched investigations to bring to book those who took part in the killing and I assure the public that any information availed to us will be dealt with in utmost confidentiality,” said Sayia.
Their bodies were moved to Chuka County Referral Hospital Mortuary where a post-mortem will be conducted.
