There was a moment of irony after Attorney General Githu Muigai turned against a section of judges issuing injunctions against big infrastructural projects.
Muigai also took issues with labour courts over interference with the appointment of board members of parastatals in the country.
"The injunctions issued against major infrastructure projects without considering the ramifications on the development of the country is a big concern. Such delays are deemed political," he said.
He added that it was paramount for the judges to weigh the consequences of their ruling, further saying that the use of contempt powers against the Principal Secretaries was also causing concern in the country
“Parastatal appointment has become a matter of litigation. Board members always run to the labour court to be reinstated even after new members have been gazetted," said Muigai.
"Stability of the nation depends on the consistency of the rulings delivered by the courts. Unpredictable Judiciary is very dangerous to the country. If the Judiciary is weak, no one will be safe," he warned.
