Religious leaders, stakeholders and government leaders met Thursday for the 15th 2017 Kenya National Prayer Breakfast meeting.
Led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto, they called for peace and co-existence, nationwide, as the country heads to elections.
Irrespective of who wins in the August 8 polls, Uhuru said Kenya should remain peaceful, even during campaigns.
"Irrespective of who wins, Kenya will remain. We should ensure peace for the sake of who we will leave behind when most of us have gone. Kenya is important than anything else," Uhuru said, at the Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi.
Also present were EACC chairman Rtd Anglican Church of Kenya Archbishop Eliud Wabukhala, National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery, Senate and National Assembly Speakers Ekwee Ethuro and Justin Muturi respectively, Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa, among others.
