Alcohol is consumed by many people in the society; young and aged alike. We have heard many negative effects of alcohol such as impaired judgment, becoming addicted to as adverse cases as those of liver cirrhosis. But beside these, do you know that alcohol can actually make you age faster than average?Excessive alcohol consumption causes wrinkles, loss of collagen, elasticity, redness and dehydration. Alcohol can have a huge negative effect on your vitamin A level, which is a very important antioxidant for your skin. Vitamin A also aids in regeneration of new cells and production of collagen, which aids skin elasticity.When alcohol is metabolized, it works as a vasodilator. This causes redness and puffiness of skin. It eventually leads to loss of skin tone or permanent redness. Alcohol is also very dehydrating. Keeping yourself hydrated is one of the important ingredients to a youthful skin tone. Alcohol does the reverse, leading to dry, pale skin which does not at all look youthful.However, if one has already experienced these aging effects, there are still chances of reversal. The number one thing to start the reversal process is ofcourse to quit alcohol. This will stop the aging from adversing to a permanent state. In addition to this, it is also important to quit taking other substances like cigarettes.Improving your diet will do your skin a favor. Increase the vegetable and fruit intake such as spinach, carrots, oranges etc. in all meals. Do not forget a portion of rich carbohydrates and proteins. In addition to this, it is important not to forget including clean drinking water. Take at least eight glasses of water a day. Exercise your body often. This keeps your whole body fit, rejuvenates the skin, detoxifies the body and leaves you feeling awesomely better. Above all, keep a positive attitude and exercise patience.
