Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop alias Buzeki seems to have made up his mind to vie as an independent candidate in the August polls after losing in the Jubilee party primaries.
Buzeki has not officially announced that he will run as an independent candidate but recent activities on his official Facebook page suggest that its just a matter of time before he makes the decision official.
He has already changed his Facebook cover page and profile picture, doing away with Jubilee party symbols and colors, clearly indicating that he would be on the ballot as an independent candidate.
The billionaire business mogul assured his supporters that he was still on course in his bid for the governor's post.
In a post on his Facebook page, Buzeki insists that he was robbed victory by a flawed nomination exercise.
"It is unfortunate that our integrity was abused, our democratic rights mutilated, and our victory shamelessly robbed from us." wrote Buzeki, Friday.
"What we witnessed in the just concluded nominations is democratically retrogressive and I am writing to assure you that we are still on course. I have every reason to protect the aspirations and the dreams of our people. Betrayals and intimidations shall never supercede the will and the rights of the people. ALUTA CONTINUA!," he added.
Final tally for the gubernatorial race indicate that governor Mandago won by 126,681 votes against 82,869 votes that Buzeki garnered which is a margin of slightly over 40,000 votes.
