Embattled Independent Electoral and Boundaries commission CEO Ezra Chiloba left tongues wagging during a burial in his Trans Nzoia county.
Chiloba was attending the burial of George Ogeto, father to Justice Patrick Kiage when mourners demanded that he be recognised and given a chance to greet them.
Mourners forced Kiage, who was introducing speakers, to change his protocol and include Chiloba.
“We want Chiloba to address us. He is our son and we are proud of him he must be recognized in this village,” the crowd chanted.
Chiloba was received with thunderous cheers as he spoke to speak.
Politicians attending the burial were heard mummuring that the 'tall, dark and handsome' technocrat might give them a run for their money if he decides to run for any seat.
According to a local political fan, Chiloba can easily clinch the governor's seat if he decides to run in 2022.
Among those trying their luck on the seat in the coming polls is MP Chris Wamalwa.
